Each cell is the actual daily return on that Aug date in that year — one row per year, one column per calendar day.
This page cuts Bitcoin's daily price history two ways: by weekday — the average Monday, Tuesday and so on for each year — and by day of the month, where picking a single month shows the actual daily return on every calendar date of that month. It is the finest grain of the Coinfuty returns grid, built from the same daily closes as the monthly, weekly, quarterly and yearly views.
Every figure is a UTC daily close against the previous daily close, in USD. Weekday and day-of-month cells outside a single-month filter are averages across the year, so they describe tendency, not any single trade. Returns across data gaps are excluded rather than smeared into the next day.
The grid is how to answer “what is the best day of the week to buy Bitcoin?” with historical data instead of folklore. Day-of-week effects in crypto are weak and unstable — the market trades 24/7, so weekend cells are real returns, not gaps. Treat the grid as context on how Bitcoin has behaved, never as a signal that a weekday is due to repeat.
The weekday view answers this with historical data: each cell is the mean daily return for that weekday in that year, and the Median row aggregates all years — weekdays with the weakest average returns have historically been the cheaper days to buy. The ranking shifts as new data lands, so the live grid — not any fixed answer — is the source of truth.
Use the coin selector to re-cut the same grid for any listed coin. Weekday tendencies differ coin to coin and are even less stable than Bitcoin's, so check the coin you actually trade — and treat any pattern as context for timing a dollar-cost average, not a guarantee.
Yes. Crypto markets run 24/7, so Saturday and Sunday cells are real daily returns, unlike stock-market seasonality tables where weekends are blank.
Each day's UTC close divided by the previous day's UTC close, minus one, in USD. Days that follow a gap in the data are excluded so a multi-day move is never counted as one day.
